hilippines is considered one of the highest literate country in the world. With more access to basic education, literacy has improved. Various programs were implemented to improve quality of education. Literacy levels of the marginalized sectors are enhanced with local government units, non-government organizations and other private sectors as active partners.

The Manila Allied Lions club took part by distributing books, educational materials (crayons, pencils, papers, and school bags) to school children of the marginalized community. Support included repairs of the schoolhouse of the Aetas because it was already dilapidated. A generator needed by the students for their practical study is also given by the club to a technical school to make them competitive in the world.
